WWE Tries Stopping Ultimate Warrior with Legal Letter Over Signing

by on Jul.21, 2008, under Wrestling News

Ultimate Warrior Returns

Former WWF Champion The Ultimate Warrior made a signing appearance yesterday at the Marriot in Uniondale, Long Island – which, coincidentally, was right next to the Nassau Coliseum prior to yesterday’s WWE Great American Bash PPV. The signing drew about 100-150 fans, paying a minimum of per autograph.

Well the Ultimate Warrior’s appearance got the attention of WWE’s legal team, who actually tried to prevent it from happening. WWE sent The Ultimate Warrior legal letters trying to get him to stop the signing, which clearly did not do much. WWE feels that Warrior was trying to capitalize on their publicity by holding the signing next door to their PPV.

The problem seems to be that an unofficial fansite on him, www.warriorcentral.net, advertised him as appearing in full Warrior gear and posing for photos “with his black WWF Championship belt.” Of course, WWE doesn’t own the rights to the letters “WWF” anymore, and the belt is his personal property from his former tenure with the company, so he’s free to do anything he wants with it…supposedly

At the signing, the legal letters WWE sent were posted publicly for all to see.
