The speculation within TNA is that Kevin Nash and Christian Cage only have about a 50/50 chance of wanting to re-sign their contracts. And what would they do if they don’t want to wrestle with TNA anymore? Well its dependent on how badly the WWE wants them. That’s right. The WWE.

Kevin Nash (a.k.a. Big Sexy) has hinted to TNA that WWE wants him to return in a short-term role as a bodyguard for Shawn Michaels to counteract Lance Cade. From what he’s said before, Nash’s preference is TNA because of the limited in-ring work he has to do and their schedule is more flexible compared to the full-time schedule he would have to work in the WWE. For those of you who have been following wrestling for a while, you will recognize the image above. But for those who wonder why TNA has a crazy barb-wired smiley face on their website, allow us to explain. Back when the WWE was called the WWF, Wrestling legend Mick Foley wrestled under the name Mankind and Cactus Jack. Mankind fought with and against with all the big names: The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and The Rock just to name a few.

Well after playing inside the ring, Mick Foley turned to announcing since Blacklash when he replaced Jonathan Coachman. But all that’s set to change now. As of September 1, 2008 Mick Foley’s contract with WWE has expired and being fed up with the organization, Foley has turned his talents towards the other circus in town, TNA. (continue reading…)

TNA has issued the following statement on their website:

A TRAGIC ACCIDENT FOLLOWING TNA’S SLAMMIVERSARY

A tragic accident following TNA’s “Slammiversary” Pay-Per-View event at the Desoto County Civic Center in Southaven, Mississippi, resulted in the death of an employee of a TNA independent production contractor.

The accident occurred following the conclusion of the event as technical crews worked to disassemble the TNA set. Currently, TNA is working in cooperation with local authorities to investigate the details surrounding the accident.

TNA is deeply saddened by this tragedy. We ask our fans across the world to join us as our thoughts and prayers are with the family in their time of loss. TNA was scheduled to have a meeting with their roster and staff regarding the incident prior to tonight’s Impact taping.

Our hopes go out to the family for such a loss.
