The immediate creative reaction to Edge suffering a torn Achilles tendon at the live event this past Friday was to figure out a way to get the belts on Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. Over the weekend, those plans changed as they were looking to have Edge make one final appearance on television by giving his Unified WWE Tag Team Championship belt to Dolph Ziggler, and proceed from there. However, it was noted that given how things work in the company, that plan would likely change a dozen times between now and this Monday’s television taping in Orlando, when the final decision would likely be announced. At this point, they no longer have plans to make Ziggler Jericho’s tag team partner.

At one point over the weekend, there was talk about keeping the Colons together, editing out Carlito’s turn on Primo on this past Monday’s taped airing of Raw. However, that idea is off the board because they ended up airing the turn on Raw.

Creative was looking at footage of the SmackDown show taped on 7/1 in Bakersfield, California to see if there was a spot they could point to on this week’s episode they could use for the injury. The hope was to find a spot during Edge’s run-in during the Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio match, since that would be his last physical appearance. It would appear that they found nothing because on Tuesday, the WWE website acknowledged the injury and the surgery, and listed it as happening in his match with Jeff Hardy match from a leapfrog spot as opposed to trying to create a storyline reason for it.

Edge had been working hurt even before his ladder match with Hardy at last month’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view. He noted during a recent radio interview promoting the television taping in Fresno that when he was younger, he was able to recover quickly from those type of matches quickly. He then said he was hurting just walking for a week after the match.

According to insider sources, Batista is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday morning for a torn biceps muscle that he sustained in a match just before his bout with Randy Orton at “Extreme Rules” 2 nights ago. The injury was most likely the reason their match only lasted just over 7 minutes.

Why the WWE decided to go through with the title change despite the injury is still a question, but not doubt the reason will be revealed in a storyline in the near future.

Expect an injury storyline or something similar to be done on RAW to get the title away from Batista, as once he undergoes surgery, he’ll be out of commission for a while.

WWE Superstar Batista is expected to miss several months of ring time as a result of a torn hamstring. The injury began giving him problems during last month’s European tour and has only gotten worse. His injury is serious enough that he is expected to undergo surgery to remedy the problem soon. Randy Orton’s punt kick to his head last week on Raw was the storyline reason for Batista’s disappearance from television.

Batista is expected to be out of action until at least June, with a worse case scenario being August. This means of course, that Batista will be missing WrestleMania 25.

No word yet on whether WWE will acknowledge the legitimate reason for Batista’s absence or if they will just blame the reason on Randy Orton.

Several sources are questioning the articles on WWE.com regarding the details on Batista’s injury. The WWE is claiming Batista’s hamstring was actually injured way back at SummerSlam, in the same match that World Heavyweight Champion John Cena was forced out of action with a neck injury actually. While Batista might have tweaked his hamstring in the match, there is no way he had a full tear at that time. The reason for this is because if Batista really tore his hamstring in the match, one would have seen a massive difference in the size of the two legs since he doesn’t wear long pants. The back of one of his legs would have been empty, so the thought he’s worked for weeks, or months, with a full tear is highly unlikely. The injury really started giving him problems during last month’s European tour, which worsened to the point of him needing surgery.

According to those snoops at Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Our favorite Dead Man, The Undertaker, was seriously limping in the ring during parts of his matches on the overseas tour last week as one of his knees is bothering him. The Undertaker had arthroscopic surgery during his time off and his knee was in worse shape than first thought.

And if that’s not enough, he’s also reportedly in the beginning stages of arthritis. Following surgery, the expectation was that he’d be ready to return for good at his Hell in a Cell match with Edge at SummerSlam, but he took a few more weeks off from doing anything really physical. Despite the lingering injury, he’s still being booked on house shows in tag matches and his TV taping dark matches are usually kept short.

It’s been said that he’s often in tremendous pain backstage, but like a true WWE Superstar, The Undertaker never complains about it and usually tries not to show it in the ring.

Here’s hoping that The Undertaker gets a lot better, he’s still one of our favorite wrestlers.

As we announced earlier, Shawn Michaels has been injured during the taping of WWE Raw. As we were told, Shawn Michaels did tear his left Triceps.

But how serious is it?

Well, WWE.com has announced that upon a “comprehensive examination”, the injury Shawn Michaels suffered at this week’s RAW taping has been diagnosed as a small tear of his left triceps.

The Hearbreak Kid will be able to compete at Unforgiven this Sunday. Because the tear is only minor, Michaels will not require surgery that would force him out of action for several months for healing and physical rehabilitation.

So good news wrestling fans, Shawn Michaels will be back in action soon.

The latest news is sad indeed. It being reported that WWE legend Shawn Michaels has suffered a tear in his triceps at tonight’s Raw taping in St. Louis. At least that’s the word going around backstage.

If this is true, Michaels will miss several months of action. With Cena also out with an injury, it’s obvious that WWE’s creative team will have to rewrite a lot of storylines they had planned for the fall.

We’ve just learned that John Cena will now be heading to San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday to have his neck looked at by Dr. Lloyd Youngblood, the surgeon who worked on the major neck surgeries for “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Edge, Lita, and others. WWE.com is reporting that Cena will also be flying to Pittsburgh tomorrow to be examined by neurosurgeon Dr. Joseph Maroon.

WWE’s website posted some comments from Cena regarding his injury:

“It needs to be dealt with because I lost most of the feeling in my right arm and am having pain in my shoulder….I’m losing 20 percent of my strength per day. If I don’t do anything about it, the injury will end up rupturing and then the surgery will be more difficult. It’s not easy, because surgery never is.”

“Every moment I stay away from the table is another moment something bad can happen. The disk is so bulged out and inflamed that any sudden move could make it worse.”

We’re hearing reports that WWE Superstar John Cena is having some serious problems with his neck, which has even caused numbness in one of his arms!

Is serious enough that Cena went to get an MRI done Saturday before Raw at Madison Square Garden. He returned to the arena and said, “Long story short, my neck is (expletive) up badly.”

John Cena was originally slated to work singles matches at this weekend’s house shows, but they were turned into tags with “The Animal” Batista as his partner. Fortunately, Batista worked the majority of their tag matches for all 3 shows.

We’ve yet to hear if Cena is going to take some time off or not, but if he does, we wouldn’t be surprised.

We’ve heard that WWE Legend Killer Randy Orton’s Injury is worse than expected. When we first brought you the news about Randy Orton’s Left Collarbone injury at One Night Stand, we said it will heal on its own and he could/should be back just after SummerSlam.

Recent reports from Wrestling Observer News tells us that the severity of Randy Orton’s broken collarbone is worse than originally thought. His scheduled return to the ring has been pushed back until at least October.
