Last week WWE Superstar, and aspiring actor, John Cena issued a challenge to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for a match at WrestleMania 26. While Dwayne Johnson was in the UK for the “Race to Witch Mountain” movie premiere, a reporter asked him about Cena’s challenge.
Above is the video of The Rock’s response. Unfortunately for wrestling fans, it doesn’t appear that the battle of the movie action heroes will happen…

Over the past year, John Cena has been very vocal about his feelings towards Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and how he’s turned his back on the wrestling industry. Cena has called The Rock out on several occasions, saying The Rock has gone back on his word that he’d always remember the fans who made him a star. Now, Cena wants to settle their score in the ring.

In an interview with MTV, Cena said he wants to wrestle The Rock Dwayne Johnson at WrestleMania 26 for a one-night-only showdown of action stars. “I’ve been trying to wrestle him,” Cena told MTV’s Josh Horowitz. “It’s not that he won’t accept the challenge. He truly has a full plate.”

Cena then set a date for the possible showdown and revealed that he’s not even that confident that he could beat the Great One. “What a better showdown .. Dwayne Johnson, or The Rock, or whatever he wants to be called .. versus John Cena at, let’s say, WrestleMania 26. I’m not even saying I’m going to win. He’s a hell of an athlete. God-given ability. One of the nicest people ever to grace a WWE ring. I’d just like to get him back for a night.”

Former WWE champ Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently spoke to MovieFone.com. They hit on several subjects, including one he rarely touches on anymore: wrestling.

Here is an excerpt:

Q: When was the last time you performed the People’s Elbow?

A: There was a considerable amount of alcohol involved … [Laughs] No, honestly the last time I did that was in Madison Square Garden five years ago. I’ve retired — that was my very last match. What a perfect place to end my career, in Madison Square Garden. I had the best time within that five or six year period, creating that character. There’s nothing like performing in front of a live audience and the energy and adrenaline rush that I got. Being in that world provided me with really invaluable experience in terms of entertaining an audience.

Q: You come from generations of wrestlers, and wrestling is obviously in your blood — did you see ‘The Wrestler’?

A: I did — I saw ‘The Wrestler’ and I loved the movie. I thought Mickey [Rourke]’s performance was outstanding. I thought that the movie that Darren Aronofsky created was real and memorable. That world … it’s a very visceral, authentic world that he created, and I can’t say enough great things about the movie, and I’m very proud of Mickey. My uncle actually trained Mickey for the movie, and he would call me weekly and give me progress reports on Mickey. That’s a tough task to go from just being an actor to becoming not only a professional wrestler, but a professional wrestler who’s wrestled for 25 years. My uncle was amazed at Mickey’s progress and his desire to do everything. [Laughs] That takes commitment.

Former WWE star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been spotted on a beach in Hawaii with a black bikini-clad woman with the name of Lauren Hashian. Who in the heck is Lauren Hashian and why should we care? Lauren Hashian is the daughter of original Boston drummer Sib Hashian (who is pretty bloody good.)

According to BostonHerald.com, she is 24 years old and was a finalist on the UPN reality show, R U the Girl back in 2005. She is a up and coming singer who met Johnson when he was in Boston shooting The Game Plan two years ago.

Here’s what we know: the Lynnfield chica (Lauren Hashian), 24, was a finalist on the UPN reality show, “R U the Girl” back in 2005, and is also an up and coming singer who met the Hollywood he-man in Boston when he was here shooting “The Game Plan” two years ago.

The two, we’re told, were regulars at Davio’s during the shooting of the Disney flick, and Lauren even brought the Tinseltown titan home to Lynnfield for dinner to meet the parents.

“Sib thinks he’s a great guy,” said a F.O.L.

Coincidentally, the “Get Smart” star and his wife of 10 years, Dani Garcia Johnson, called it quits last summer as a couple. They have a 6-year-old daughter.

Lauren, who has sung locally and even fronted Ernie and the Automatics (her dad’s the drummer) when they opened for Los Lobos at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in 2006, has since moved to La-La to work on her music career.

At the ‘Get Smart’ preview today, The Rock a.k.a “Dwayne Johnson” answered many questions from fans. One such fan was bold enough to ask The Rock whether or not if he will ever return to wrestling, and if he will go with his promise he did at the WWE hall of fame on whether or not he will face John Cena in a match…

All Dwayne Johnson said was that he retired his “The Rock” persona 4 or 5 years ago and that he is done with wrestling and he will not wrestle John Cena. Johnson also stated that he would never make a movie with Stone Cold, but that he respects the Texas Rattlesnake. Finally, he had no clue about the McMahon million dollar give away.

Sounds like Dwayne Johnson is pretty much done with wrestling doesn’t it?

Cena was quoted saying, “…And Rock is one of those guy who gave the ‘I’ve wanted to do this all my life’ speech, but in actuality he wanted to be an actor. Now trust me, that is totally fine with me. It’s OK. But just don’t say one thing and do another. Because our fans are extremely loyal and when yo do that it pisses me off.”

Cena went on to say, “All of us work so hard to make the show as good as it can be. So it’s hard when people give the impression of ‘this is the greatest gig in the world’ and then jump ship to make movies. Now I have every interviewer in the world asking me when I’m leaving to make movies.”

And finally, “And the answer is I’m never doing that, because I love wrestling more than I do movies.” “It’s guys like that who set the precedent of using wrestling as a stepping stone to do films. But there’s no controversy to any of that—as Rock is a successful actor and that’s what he has always wanted to be.”

But the interview wasn’t just about The Rock, Cena also talked about his latest movie, the WWE-produced “12 Rounds”, Flair’s induction speech, the matches at WWE’s Judgment Day, and other things.
Cena spoke positively about John Morrison. “I’m actually quite interested in seeing The Miz and John Morrison in a high profile PPV match against Kane and CM Punk. I’ve never really been a fan of Morrison, but I always thought he had a lot of potential. I hope he understands the opportunity he’s getting and steps up to the plate.”

Several sources inside the WWE were surprised to hear reports of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson being aloof backstage at the Hall of Fame. They thought he was just being his regular Dwayne Johnson self and didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.
Apparently there were only a couple people upset with Johnson, but they were, of course, the top people in the company. Most of the heat on The Rock has been attributed to either jealousy or not knowing that he had to leave immediately because he’s working on the Witch Mountain film.

The Rock talked to Mr McMahon before the show and talked about having some fun on the show and having a long monologue to open up the show as if he was the host of the show. The Rock told Vince that he would roast some of the guys in attendance and be self-deprecating. McMahon loved the idea and Rock apparently said that he was having a great time and would have gone for another hour if he could have.

If you remember Both The Rock’s and Flair’s speeches went long, but only Flair was told to ‘wrap it up.’

So maybe the whole this is just a mole hill after all.

As some of you may know, there is some serious friction between Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and The WWE right now. Both the WWE’s management and even the top wrestlers. John Cena touched on the issue recently during an interview published in the UK Sun where he asked why Rock couldn’t attend more WWE events.

It seems The Rock has rejected many of The WWE’s invitations to events since he left the company and landed in Hollywood – and that doesn’t sit well with John Cena, Vince McMahon, Triple H or Steve Austin, just to name a few. Everyone feels that Rock should do more to “pay back” the company, and the fans that helped him become a star.

There are a number of people within the WWE who sympathize with Rock’s situation however. Since he has become a hot name in Hollywood, he could be advised to distance himself from pro wrestling. Now that the Rock makes a lot more money with movies than he did with wrestling, he would obviously want to do what takes care of his family best.

From The Texas Rattlesnake’s perspective however, he has said he wishes he was in the physical condition to continue wrestling. So it’s hard for him to understand why someone like Dwayne Johnson wouldn’t want to do more in wrestling. Austin’s lengthy list of injuries probably won’t allow him to wrestle another full-length match. Rock and Austin haven’t stayed in touch with each other over the last few years and there was reportedly some friction between the two at the Hall of Fame ceremony on Saturday night.

One source at the WWE mentioned Rock might be returning to the ring at WrestleMania 25, but said that the chances of it happening are pretty slim if for no other reason than his busy filming schedule.
