Hulk Hogan is New Orleans King of Mardi Gras

Hulk Hogan was the not only part of one of the many parades in New Orleans this past weekend for Mardi Gras, but he was the main centerpiece. The Hulkster appeared as “King of Bacchus.” Which, for those wanting a lesson in Roman mythology, was the god of wine and intoxication.
Here’s a couple excerpts from the AP’s recap of the event:
– Despite competition from the Super Bowl stemming from the century’s earliest Mardi Gar, thousands of revelers lined up along streets Sunday with another day of parades leading up to Tuesday’s finale. A second round of gunfire that marred Saturday night’s parade did not appear to deter Sunday’s merrymakers.
- Hulk Hogan was wearing a gold, sleeveless vest, along with red, knee-length tights and a black headscarf. He spent the day tossing doubloons to the crowd.
Celebrity news TMZ.com had also picked up on the story:”File this under ‘Bad Ideas’ — a leathery Hulk Hogan reigned as ‘King of Bacchus’ at a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans yesterday. Bacchus is the god of wine and intoxication. His son Nick was involved in a high speed crash that left his passenger, John Graziano, in a coma. It has been reported Nick was drinking before the crash.”
